Writing Tip for April

If the road to hell is paved with adverbs, then once you get there you will find yourself surrounded by Tautology

Tautology - the saying of the same thing twice in different words, generally considered to be a fault of style (e.g., they arrived one after the other in succession ).

Examples:
  • I went to see him personally.
  • He is always making predictions about the future.
  • She was a dark-haired brunette.

But then there are the funny examples, some intentional and some not.
  • "It's deja vu all over again." - Yogi Berra
  • “Our nation must come together to unite.” - George W. Bush
