Never install Facebook Apps or login to anything with your Facebook account. Also disable Facebook facial recognition from your settings. Third party developers are not properly controlled by Facebook because Facebook wants their retargeted Ad money. Apple, on the other hand, has strict developer guidelines so far and could serve as an example for Facebook.
Only 270,000 people installed the Cambridge Analytica App that provided Trump and Heritage with illegal data from 50 million users (friends of the 270). Russia used a similar scheme; a hackers playbook, and Facebook didn’t care. Cambridge created a Facebook App called "thisisyourdigitallife" that had you sign in with your Facebook account and take a survey.
